Rowing is free for all members of Lincoln College. Operational costs for the boat club are covered by the College sports fund. However, the combined expense of coaching fees, race entries and kit leaves little to spare for the purchase of boats and oars. That is where we come in.
The Lincoln College Boat Club Society pays for two thirds of all boats, oars, and associated equipment used by the Boat Club. The remaining funding is provided by the College.
In addition to providing capital funding for equipment, the Society has oversight of the Boat Club’s activities, meeting and sharing experience with the Club’s captains and president twice a year.
The Society also organises the annual LCBCS dinner, attended by both members of the Boat Club and the Society, on Saturday of eights week. All Society members are encouraged to attend, and receive an invitation every year.
